Västerås was warmest in all of Europe when Power Big Meet came to town in early July. This year’s Big Meet had epic proportions – as usual it was bigger than ever in every way.

Cruising
This year we believe that at least 40000 people – both those living in Västerås and people from all over the world – took part in the cruising on the nights after Big Meet. This is a 6 kilometer long mix of car parade and carnival, rock concert, beer tents, food and picnicking people. On Saturday night every square meter of grass along Sjöhagsvägen was filled with people.

Giant swap meet
This year’s swap meet was bigger than ever, even though all vendors now book their places ahead of time. The vending street has reached maximum capacity! The vendors even stock up with lots of new stuff only for Västerås. The variety of what you can buy is enormous. Big Meet is without doubt Europe’s best swap meet and this year we had vendors not only from Sweden, but also from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Denmark, and England.

Results of the judgement of the cars
Long Distance went to four Austrians who had driven all the way from Vienna: over 2000 km to Västerås. All of them in American cars.

Clubs
Recruiting new members and spreading interest for the own brand and the club is important at Big Meet. Many take the opportunity to greet enthusiasts from all over Europe and welcome them to their carefully staked area of the Big Meet field.
