It sounds like a cliché, but Power Big Meet 2011 beat all records. If you weren't there in Västerås for July 7-9 - sorry! If you were there, there isn't much to add. Perfect weather and an incredible amount of people and cars. On Saturday, the meet area was more or less full; the opening day and Friday also saw a record turn out. Almost 20,000 cars over three days! As usual, there were many international visitors, most notably around 50 American cars from Russia! The swap met was enormous and the visitors had to walk about 5 kilometers to see everything.
Lars Hjelm from Ludvika won the Best in Show award with his newly renovated (it took 14 years!) Imperial 1961 convertible. Congratulations!

From Switzerland in a 440" SuperBird
Karl Klingler is an avid MoPar enthusiast and has driven from Switzerland to Power Big Meet several times. Two years ago in a 1970 AAR Cuda.
Karl makes a point of using his precious metal for the long drives north, where you meet hundreds of other classic MoPars. This year Karl takes his 1970 Plymouth Superbird Vitamin C with a 440" 4-barrel. Its a great looking machine indeed.

2011 marks the 34th annual Power Big Meet. The show attracts visitors from all over the world and has become the Mecca of American 50's and 60's cars.
Power Big Meet has become a social and cultural event bringing together enthusiasts from different
economic and ethnic backgrounds. Agewise we see no barriers - 18 year olds talk the same
language as 80 year olds. Cartalk! American cars from the past is a worldwide pasttime knowing
no barriers.
Sweden has always been a huge cartech country despite the fact that the population is less than
10 million. Its not uncommon for small villages - population less than a 1000 - to have 100 or more
old American enthusiast cars. Its a national pasttime predominantly popular outside the bigger cities.
So enjoy the 2011 Power Big Meet and play by the unwritten rules.
No drinking and driving - foreign visitors MUST know that even a tiny bit of alcohol is not permitted by the police.
Enjoy the friendly atmosphere of Power Big Meet. Nobody cares if your car is a perfectly restored classic convertible worth a fortune or an old 4 door with lots of patina.

Power Meet season starts bigger than ever
Power Start of Summer Meet and Power AmericaFest are the traditional events that start our outdoor car show season in Sweden. We can look back at two incredible 2011 events with record attendance. Some 3,200 enthusiast cars came to Start of Summer Meet (held in Hässleholm in southern Sweden) and some 4,600 to the AmericaFest (held in Nossebro about one hour north of Gothenburg).
The US Car Lifestyle has grown stronger over the last 10 years and spans the whole spectrum of owners: age-wise and financially. Sweden is one of a kind in the world when it comes to the broad interest in American enthusiast cars - new and old.
Its time to make plans for the biggest American Car Show in Universe!
Power Big Meet returns once again to Västerås 100 kilometers west of Swedish capital Stockholm. The show, located at the Johannisberg Airfield, attracted over 17.000 enthusiast cars over 3 days in 2010. The enormous swap meet covering both sides of the runway and taxiway is one of the main attractions.
You must see in with your own eyes to believe it! As usual we give away 6.000 vanity Power Big Meet license plates for free to cars entering the show grounds on Friday and Saturday. First come first served! These plates are huge collector items world wide.
Big Meet 2011 opens on Thursday July 7 at 11 AM.

Will the 17,000 car record of Power Big Meet 2009 be beaten? This is the biggest car show in Europe – by far – and the only competition in the United States is the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, Michigan. However the Dream Cruise is a happy get-together of collector cars. Not a car show and a huge swap meet in one place. The fact that Power Big Meet is held in northern Europe in sparsely populated Sweden is hard to explain.
Power Big Meet Swap Meet is bigger!
Despite the fact that the swap meet is already huge and takes at least a full day to cover we have choosen to let it grow for 2010. When given the opportunity to some selected new vendors with unique parts to take part in this years show.
The finest Cadillac in the world?
One of the higlights of the 2010 Power Big Meet will, no doubt, be the 1960 Eldorado Seville of Chister Malm. It is a 14 year restoration project – thousands of hours – in search of perfection.
"I have tried to restore the car to the exact condition it was when it left the factory June 20, 1960."
The Eldorado was found flawless – 50 points out of 50 possible – by the judges at a Power Meet in early June. This perfect score has been awarded only 4 times in the 33 year history of Power Meets. Despite this level of perfection, Christer's Cadillac will meet stiff competition in Västerås July 8-10. Cars are judged Friday and Saturday July 9 and 10.
Debora goes from Florida to Big Meet!
Debora Blomster lives in Sarasota on the West coast of Florida. "I have dreamed about taking a car to Power Big Meet for years!" Debora shipped her newly finished project car - a 1972 Oldsmobile convertible - to Europe in May. "Power Big Meet is one of the biggest American car gatherings in the world and I'm really looking forward to visiting the show in my own car."
Great start to Power Meet 2010 show season
Power Big Meet in Västerås is by far the biggest Power Meet. We also sponsor several smaller shows every year. Power Start of Summer Meet in Hässleholm i southern Sweden drew some 2.800 american cars the last Saturday in May despite cold and cloudy weather. Power AmericaFest in the small town of Nossebro about an hour east of Swedens second biggest city Gothenburg set a smashing new record of 3.400+ US cars June 5th. These are huge show by international standards and the US car following in Scandinavia is incredibly big.
U.S. car enthusiasts from all over the world are preparing for the trip to the 33rd annual Power Big Meet in Västerås July 8-10. Make your travel arrangements early – this is a huge show and accomodation is limited. In fact most regular visitors book their hotel rooms one year in advance – when they leave Västerås to go back home! There is no way to describe Power Big Meet – you have to be there in person to understand the size of this event. If you like American 50's and 60's cars nothing – even in the United States – can compete with Power Big Meet!
