It is well-known that Big Meet is the largest outdoors car show in the world. With about 10,000 visiting vehicles the meet is an outstanding experience. If you have been to Big Meet previously you know what we are talking about. If you've never taken the chance you do not know what you have been missing! INCREDIBLE is only the first name.
Here is some good-to-know information about Big Meet.

Hotels
There are around 15 nice hotels in Västerås. Information about these can be found at Västerås Tourist Information Office. Make your reservations early - the demand is enormous. You also find a lot of youth hostels and groups of leisure cottages for hire in the surrounding area. They, too, are usually quite fully booked within a 50 kilometers vicinity of Västerås. We recommend that you give the Tourist Bureau of Västerås a call: +46 21 39 01 00.

Camping
Power Camp: As in the last couple of years, there will be no camping on the exhibition grounds. All campers are referred to Västerås Mälarcamping. See below!

Västerås Mälarcamping (previously Johannisbergs camping): Located approximately 1 kilometer away from the exhibition area at Johannisbergs airfield and run by Nordic Camping. Västerås Mälarcamping will offer different event prices for Power Meet. Please note that the camping fee does not include the entry fee for Big Meet. For more info on pricing and other relevant info, see: www.nordiccamping.se. If you have questions, call +46 21 14 02 79.

Power Swap Meet: The largest odds-and-ends market in Europe. Chafed feet and an incredible throng of people.

The cars are judged in 11 classes for everything that rolls on four wheels. No preregistration. Takes place Friday and Saturday. We welcome you to win hefty prizes. A place on the winners' stand at Power Big Meet is the ultimate proof of status!
Awards Ceremony: Saturday July 10 at 14.30.

Cruising: Nowadays the cruising takes place on both Friday and Saturday night. The best cruising is on Friday. The Saturday tends to be too overcrowded. The police is usually OK, but sometimes the alcohol checkpoints are quite frequent. A 100 percent sober driver is vital equipment at Big Meet.

Opening hours for Big Meet:
Thursday July 8: 11-18
Friday July 9: 8-18
Saturday July 10: 8-18
(note that the entrance closes at 15 on Saturday)
